Latest news

Dear Clarkes Families,

As we head into October, we’re excited to meet with you during our upcoming Parent Conferences, held on the 16th and 17th.  Your child’s teacher will be reaching out with specific details, including date/time.  Please feel free to stop by with any questions or comments you have!  We value this time as important to our partnership – please plan to arrive on time, and please understand if we have to cut our collaboration short to honor the next family’s scheduled appointment.

As the weather turns cooler and wetter, please remember that our students will continue to spend some portion of their day outside.  With classroom temperatures that may also fluctuate, dressing in layers is encouraged.

Fact: Students who read with their family do better in school and in life!  When you child comes home, try asking “Tell me about what you read today!” instead of ‘How was your day?”

Proud to be a Cougar,

Larry Conley, Principal

Smarter Balanced Assessments
Posted on 01/24/2018
Later this spring, we’ll complete our Smarter Balanced Assessments for students in Grades 3-5. Unlike multiple-choice assessments, these State tests better align with the typical work we do in classrooms (i.e., think critically, analyze information, make a claim, cite and use multiple sources, prove answers, write, complete multi-step problems, communicate, etc.).   READ MORE... about Smarter Balanced Assessments

The Beavercreek Lions Club would to thank all the Clarkes Elementary Families for their generous donations of food for our barrels.  There were over 600 food items donated!  The winners for this contest are the area families who will receive the food, the Clarkes students who learned how to help others and the 1st grade class of Mrs. Deller and Mrs. Delbridge who brought in the most food items.  Thank you!
